Outdoor Play
Bottom Green
Equipment for the bottom green is stored in the equipment hut, on the left looking out to the green. The hut contains mats, measuring sticks, jacks, scoreboards, bowls pushers and mesh nets and nails for use when the green is usable but soft. (A board by the entry gate tells you when you must use these nets.)
Sets of Club bowls are kept in the clubhouse for use by Members who have not yet got their own bowls. Please do not remove these from the Club except if required for an away match.
Additional measuring equipment, only generally required for matches, is kept in a box in the club house (either below the Indoor Honours Board or, in summer, on the window sill outside the ladies' changing room).
If you have booked a rink you should use the rink as allocated on the whiteboard in the entrance lobby.
Note:
Morning and afternoon play until 6PM is normally across the green
except for major Club events when it may be up and down. General play
after 6PM is up and down the green. It is therefore not feasible to
play a match starting at 5PM!
Top Green
The top green has its own pavilion and the key to this, and the toilet, is hung immediately inside the door to the equipment store on the top lawn. Equipment for the top green is stored in the equipment area to the right hand side of the pavilion, looking from the green.). This area contains mats, measuring sticks, jacks, scoreboards and bowls pushers. If mesh nets and nails (see Bottom Green above) are needed then these will have to be fetched from the equipment shed on the main lawn.
The last players to leave the top green must ensure that all the equipment is put away, that the the toilet and the club room are both secured, and the keys put on the hook in the equipment store which is then locked with the combination lock..
